Docling at Red Hat Summit 2026
Meet the Docling team at Red Hat Summit
Next week the Docling community heads to Atlanta for Red Hat Summit 2026 (May 11–13). We're bringing four sessions across the week — a mix of lightning talks and a hands-on lab — covering everything from converting messy PDFs into structured content, to running scalable RAG and agentic AI on Red Hat OpenShift AI, to processing thousands of complex documents with Ray Data.
If you're working on document AI, RAG pipelines, or large-scale ingestion on Kubernetes, come say hi. You'll find us on stage, at Community Central (stickers and swag included), and at the IBM Booth #160 for live demos.
Schedule
Monday, May 11
Meet Docling: The Swiss Army knife for scalable document AI!
4:15 PM – 4:35 PM EDT · Lightning talk · B401-B402, Level 4
A tour of how Docling turns complex documents into structured, usable content with AI models that are far smaller than typical industry alternatives. Real-world examples include large-scale RAG over aviation maintenance manuals and ingestion of hundreds of thousands of banking and insurance claims.
Speakers: Peter Staar (Docling TSC, IBM), Michele Dolfi (Docling TSC, IBM)
From simple RHEL docs to intelligent answers: Building AI systems with Docling and Red Hat AI
4:40 PM – 5:00 PM EDT · Lightning talk · B401-B402, Level 4
How the Red Hat Enterprise Linux Lightspeed team uses Docling for document ingestion in RAG. The session covers deploying Docling on Red Hat AI 3, building RAG with organization-specific knowledge, and weaving document intelligence into AI applications.
Speakers: Ali Maredia (Red Hat), Máirín Duffy (Red Hat), Major Hayden (Red Hat)
Tuesday, May 12
Building intelligent apps with Python and RAG: From raw data to real-time insights
3:30 PM – 5:00 PM EDT · Hands-on lab · A312, Level 3
A 90-minute workshop transforming PDFs and unstructured text into query-ready knowledge with Docling, then deploying and scaling RAG using Kubernetes-native tools like Kafka, Knative, and Kubeflow Pipelines. You'll walk away having built a Kubernetes-native, AI-powered ticketing retriever.
Speakers: Christopher Nuland (Red Hat), Cedric Clyburn (Red Hat), Natale Vinto (Red Hat)
Wednesday, May 13
Large-scale data processing with RayData and Docling
12:15 PM – 12:35 PM EDT · Lightning talk · DevZone Theater
A demo-heavy session showing how to process thousands of complex PDFs into high-quality structured data using Ray Data and Docling on Red Hat OpenShift AI. Expect distributed pipelines reaching up to 12.5× faster throughput than standalone runs, plus an end-to-end RAG ingestion pipeline.
Speakers: Jehlum Vitasta Pandit (Red Hat), Michele Dolfi (Docling TSC, IBM)
Where to find us
- Community Central — the place to grab Docling stickers, meet maintainers, and ask questions.
- IBM Booth #160 — live demos and use-case discussions throughout the week.
